Flow Rack

If your business needs to maximize limited storage space, reduce warehousing costs or simply organize inventory, you may be looking for pallet flow rack.

The Design:

The idea behind pallet flow rack is simple: let gravity do your storing for you. When a pallet is loaded through the front end of a system, it glides smoothly along to stop at the discharge end (where it awaits removal by forklift).

And, when a palletized load is removed from the system, loads behind glide gently into position to await picking as well.

With our design team on the job, there’s no limit to the potential size or density of your flow system; we’re happy to accommodate requests for designs up to 20 pallets per lane.

Regardless of size or scope, however, all successful flow rack must account for:

  • The type of product that will be stored, whether it’s boxes, cartons, portable racks, bulk boxes, stacking racks, folding wire containers or other.
  • The type of pallet being used (wood pallets, plastic pallets, disposable pallets, etc.)
  • The environment inventory will be stored in (freezers, coolers, ambient temperature warehouses, dock areas, etc.)
  • The unique application of the warehouse it’s intended for.

Typically, pallet flow systems are most commonly used where FIFO (First-In/First-Out) inventory rotation is crucial to daily processes. FILO (First-In/Last-Out) pallet flow rack systems, however, can still be easily realized by working closely with our design staff (which is talented enough to satisfy any request).
