Lift-Off Machine Guarding System
RapidGuard® II features a unique lift-off design that allows for the removal of the guards (panels) while the fixing system (hardware) remains attached to the guards (post), in compliance with RIA TR R15.406.
The installation time is 50% faster than most competing products & it can be installed by 1 person due to the Patent Pending T-Slot mounting solution.
RapidGuard® II Panels & Posts
Panels are made of 10 gauge welded wire and patterned in a 1 1/4″ SQ (center to center). The mesh is then welded into a 1 1/4″ x 1 1/4″ 13 gauge roll formed angle. Strong 2″ x 2″ 14 gauge tube posts have threaded inserts pre-drilled into the posts for quick mounting of the panels.
– Lift-Off Panels:
Our panels lift off from the upright posts, allowing easy access to the equipment you are guarding.
– Safety to the Max:
RapidGuard® II is compliant with OSHA and ANSI/RIA safety standards.
– Interlocks:
A variety of safety switches or interlocks can be supplied with a RapidGuard™ II door.
– Speedy Installation:
System installs 50% faster than conventional physical barrier products.
Versatile, Economical & Safe
Machine Guarding Systems from WireCrafters® are a simple, effective way to protect personnel from the dangers posed by automated equipment. These barriers are a strong and economical solution to plant safety needs. Versatility of this system allows easy integration of access doors or larger openings with system controls.
Machine Guarding also doubles as a safety net by containing malfunctioning equipment. Welded and woven wire mesh is extremely resilient; it resists dings, retains its shape, and is virtually maintenance free.
These fully-framed woven wire or welded wire mesh panels bolt to posts forming a strong, secure barrier around dangerous automated equipment. Unlike high-tech light curtains and switch mats that are subject to electrical malfunctions, these safety systems are always on guard.
Woven & Welded Wire Mesh Machine Guarding
WireCrafters® offers both woven and welded wire mesh machine guarding and perimeter guarding systems to protect and separate property, equipment, and personnel. WireCrafters® Machine Guarding Systems (or commonly referred to as Physical Barriers) are available in 5′, 8′, 10′ and 12′ or any height you require.
By the nature of its woven wire or welded wire design, WireCrafters® guarding systems provide an unparalleled level of safety and security. The traditional woven wire mesh machine guarding systems are constructed of a 10 GA wire, woven into a 2″ x 1″ rectangular mesh. This heavy mesh is welded inside a 1-1/4″ x 1-1/4″ x 1/8″ angle frame.
A more modern welded wire machine guarding system called RapidWireHD™ features a 10 GA welded wire design and is constructed in a 1 1/4″ x 2 1/2″ rectangular pattern. The sturdy welded mesh is surrounded by a 13 GA rolled formed angle frame. RapidWireHD™ is also available in a 2″x2″ welded mesh square pattern.
– Protect Visitors:
Prevent visiting personnel from unknowingly walking into active fork truck traffic areas or automated machinery work cells.
– Custom Configurations:
Driver Access Cages can be ordered in any size, and may be built free standing or anchored to existing building walls. View stock panel sizes
– Service Windows:
Typically these driver cages are furnished with a service window with a shelf to provide the driver a counter to sign and pick up their paperwork.
Alternate Machine Guarding Systems
Commonly woven and welded wire mesh machine guarding systems require solid partitions to be integrated into the systems design. WireCrafters® stocks solid sheet metal in 16 GA panels as well as 1/4″ Polycarbonate panels to complete your design. Expanded metal and stainless steel panels are also available for machine guarding.
Machine Guarding Applications
Commonly found in weld cells, robotic cells, press break equipment stations, laser cutting operation areas, metal stamping and folding areas, and punching stations, Machine Guarding, Area Guarding and Perimeter Guarding has hundreds, if not thousands of possible applications. Contact a knowledgeable dealer in your area to help define your machine guarding needs.
DEA Approved Drug Storage Cages
When properly installed, WireCrafters Style 840 Partitions meet the US Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) requirements for physical security of Schedule III through V controlled substances as outlined in Title 21 CFR Sections1301.72-1301.76 physical security controls. This drug storage application of WireCrafters wire partitions is ideally suited for pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, medical facilities, distribution centers, record storage, drug warehouses, and much more.
DEA Storage Cage Features
WireCrafters DEA approved secured storage cages feature self-closing and self-locking doors, and wire mesh walls and ceiling panels constructed of a 2″ x 1″ 10 gauge wire. 2″ square steel support posts are spaced no more than 10′ apart, with welded-on base plates for lagging to the floor. The walls of the drug storage cages have a minimum of 1 1/2″ horizontal reinforcement at least every 5′. The panels mount flush to floor, and utilize heavy 3/8″ hardware which is non-accessible from the exterior. WireCrafters panels are stackable to any height and clear spanning ceilings up to 30′.
